Does your Mercedes need a wheel alignment?
‘Wheel alignment’ is often confused with ‘wheel balancing’. Although they both affect ride and handling, they are not the same thing.
-
If a wheel is out of balance, it will cause a vibration at highway speeds that can be felt in the steering wheel and/or the seat.
-
If the wheel alignment is out, it can cause excessive tyre wear and steering or tracking problems.
To find out if your vehicle needs a wheel alignment, check each tyre and look for uneven wear patterns. By the time wear is visible though it may be too late to save that tyre.
This is why it is a good idea to have your vehicle’s wheel alignment checked periodically.
